Cafe Nooner Show - now fished out

Thank you to everyone involved in my recent showing located in old town Eureka - Cafe Nooner.  Over sixty hanging pieces were shown during this time virtually walking into an aquarium suitable for humans with no SCUBA.  The "Aquarium" will relocate back to Arcata's newest and baddest art galleries - Ironside Gallery for my feature show starting early October 2011, swim on by for your catch.

15 Minute Draw

15 Minute Draw kiced off today with two accomplished drawings by myself, two others by Marisa Sutter, her first ever draw.  This is FUN, when was the last time YOU took the time to cut loose and have fun?  15 Min Draw does this, go out, find something appealing to draw and do it, everyone in group including instructor draws.  Addicting?  Hell yes!  Draw Now, see updates for locations of "Future Draws".

San Francisco Labor Day 2011

Excellent day to be out and about, convinced a long time buddy to the 15minute sketch challenge.  We set out in San Francisco's North Beach area.  From there I decided on the first of four sketches for the day.  Once the Mama's sketch was complete we moved on until my buddy JJ decided on draw #2, kind of an alley way with stairs? Done, moved on to #3, this was from the sixth floor of a parking garage directly across from SF Chronicle, JJ's second choice, done.  We set out for more sketches and settled on Lori's since it offered us a recluse of shelter on the street to rip our sketch.  Great fun!

Driftwood, USA

Driftwood, USA officially completed today, Bank, Saloon & Jail, we can all relate I'm sure.  Sculpture came from multiple sketches I did prior to build.  From maybe 10 sketches I took the best pieces and made the sculpture what is today.  The pistol on the side of the bank is my interpretation of retreiving money from local ATM machines in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico.  Nothing like someone watching your back.  Swingin doors - every saloon should have and jail w/key drop!

Wally's Secret Stash makes his debut

This recent piece "Wally's Secret Stash" was a favorite sketch I had ripped awhile back and in seeing it again I decided to make my attempt in sculpture in another "story board piece".  Taking from my Antarctica experience a very long time ago I was able to come up with the rough sketch.  Wally is a mirror image of the sketch only thing missing is the bow tie, how could I forget that!

K-Time to Race?

Tonight was a special night to commemorate a true friend's committment to the Kinetic Sculpture Race (30 yrs running) for those not counting!  Urgent request made through Kinetic waves of Goddess Jen-O special bling was required.  Since all the hoopla, was decided to show appreciation to Ken's 420 Crew & June's Glady's Giraffe Crew, very speical time!  Pilot Badges are of course a requirement  during the Grand Kinetic Championship Race.  Got yours?
